“What an amazing opportunity to collaborate on, create and celebrate stories!”
Since the start of the Autumn Term, Class 18 has been part of a creative writing project with author Richard O’Neill. Together, they came up with an original idea for a story set in our school one hundred years ago.
In the final week before the Easter break, five very lucky Year 6 pupils visited Seven Stories – The National Centre for Children’s Books in Newcastle.
They began their visit with a tour of the centre, exploring the galleries filled with original illustrations from much-loved children’s books such as ‘The tiger Who Came to Tea’, ‘Elmer the Patchwork Elephant’ and the ‘Mog’ series. Then they performed their story in ‘The Attic’, an area where famous children’s authors have shared their stories!
They had a wonderful day!
What an amazing opportunity to collaborate on, create and celebrate stories!
