Archibald Primary School was delighted to host the Middlesbrough RSC Playmaking Festival 2024. Five schools came together to perform scenes from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
This was the culmination of eight months of work in which teachers and pupils from each school worked with an RSC practitioner to interpret and present individual scenes from one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies as part of the RSC Associate Schools Programme.
Specially invited guests from each school, together with Chris Cook, the Mayor of Middlesbrough were taken on a journey through the school to watch scenes from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet performed by pupils from each of the participating schools – Archibald Primary School Newport Primary School, Sunnyside Academy, Macmillan Academy and Priory Woods School and Arts College.
